General Bio: |
Bob Whitney is the Statewide Extension Organic Program Specialist located at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Stephenville. As an employee of the Texas A&M AgriLife System he has worn many agricultural “hats” both extension and research and worked in a variety of settings including many long-term international assignments. He has a lifetime of experience with commercial agriculture in Texas and throughout many countries of the world where has worked developing agricultural systems mainly in subsistence agriculture. As Extension Organic Program Specialist, he provides guidance to persons or entities seeking organic certification; technical assistance on organic agriculture production to clientele; and serves as a liaison connecting organic operators to other Extension and Research scientists as needed. Bob holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in agriculture from Tarleton State University and was named a Texas A&M Board of Regents Fellow in 2007. Laurie is his wife of 41 years, and they have two children Kate, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent - Horticulture in Williamson County and Marshall, a Mechanical Engineer and business owner in Houston with his wife Kelsey and 2 years 5 month old Vivian, his first grandchild. |
