Position Title:
County Extension Agent - Agriculture and Natural Resources

General Bio:

Over the past twenty years, I have fulfilled full-time faculty appointments within divisions of agriculture at institutions of higher education. Most of these appointments included the assignment of advising or managing animal laboratory (cattle and horse) units as well as coaching college rodeo teams.

I like to learn and share what I learn with others, with decades of proven ability to simplify and clarify intricate information so it is understandable, applicable, and enjoyable to engage.

My research efforts have focused on mitigating oxidative stress by implementing injectable trace mineral protocols into cattle husbandry strategies to improve foraging (2025, 2024) and performance (growth and fertility, 2018).

Outside of my professional experiences, I have a lifetime of practical experiences in every phase of live cattle production. My earliest experiences are complemented by back-to-back State FFA Beef Production Proficiency awards (1997 and 1998), followed by years of managing and owning beef cattle operations, as well as dayworking for many feedlots, backgrounder and cow-calf producers.

In addition to my formal education and professional experiences, I have held elected leadership roles in county Farm Bureau Boards, Extension Councils, Cattlemen’s Associations, Fair Boards, and nationally with the United States Cattlemen’s Association.

Research:

My research efforts have focused on mitigating oxidative stress by implementing injectable trace mineral protocols into cattle husbandry strategies to improve foraging (2025, 2024) and performance (growth and fertility, 2018).
