Scott Halliwell, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU® is an Assistant Professor of Practice for the Texas A&M Financial Planning Program in the Department of Agricultural Economics. He instructs FINP 335, Financial Readiness for Future Military Leaders, FINP 439 - Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits, and FINP 443 - Technology Applications in Financial Planning
Prior to teaching and joining Texas A&M, Scott spent over 30 years in the financial services industry, holding roles in virtually every aspect of the profession. His final stop included 15 years between USAA and the USAA Educational Foundation focused on military financial readiness, financial wellbeing, and financial education. During this time, he served for several years as a personal finance spokesperson where he was regularly quoted in financial publications including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fox Business, The Washington Post, the Associated Press, and others. He was also frequently asked to speak on personal finance topics to military audiences around the globe.
Scott feels truly blessed to get to use his decades of professional experience to help develop future Aggie financial planners and financially ready future military leaders.
