Rahul Raman did B.Sc in Agriculture from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India) in year 2015. After his undergraduate studies, he joined International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics(ICRISAT), Hyderabad a CGIAR institution as an intern. He worked there for nine months on a project entitled 'Leaf Expansion Studies under elevated atmospheric demand in C4 cereals'. His work comprised of studying the effects of water stress and vapor pressure deficit in different genotypes of Maize (Corn), Pearl millet and Sorghum. In year 2016, he got admitted at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas as Graduate Research Assistant (MS in Agronomy) in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. At present he is working as Masters student at TAMU. His work comprises Crop Ecophysiology studies, Phenotyping, characterization of drought tolerance traits in Corn and Sorghum.
Rahul is also member of American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America and Soil Science Society of America. In year 2014-15, he was the College President (All India Agriculture Students Association) and member of National Editorial Board (All India Agriculture Students Association) 2015-16.
Rahul is looking for joining research and development sector of any CGIAR Institution or any Industry working on Corn or Sorghum after he is done with his MS and Ph.D
My research work is focussed on characterization of drought tolerant traits in corn and sorghum using some phenotypical and pressure-volume measurements.
